Lowertown Neighborhood Association

  1. Candidates for Director or Officer. Any Neighbor wishing to become a candidate for a position as Director or Officer of the Association may provide a resume, and shall complete the LNA Questionnaire for candidates for Director or officer of LNA. 

  2. Presiding Officer: Right to Speak on Issues. The presiding officer of the LNA shall, in addition to conducting meetings, have the right to speak to issues, to debate, and to vote on items before the Board or Membership. 

  3. Parliamentarian: Right to Speak on Issues. The Parliamentarian of the LNA shall, in addition to advising on matters of parliamentary procedure, have the right to speak to issues, to debate, and to vote on items before the Board or Membership.

  4. Holding Two Offices Simultaneously. In the event that no other Board member is available to fill an unfilled office, an Officer or Director may hold two offices simultaneously. An Officer or Director volunteering to fill such office may do so with the majority approval of the Board and continue until such time as a replacement is found. 

  5. Serving on Committees Simultaneously. Officers and Directors serving on the Board may also serve on Committees, including as Chair. 

  6. Code of Conduct. The Parliamentarian shall draft a Code of Conduct for meetings, based on the RNeighbors materials. If approved by a majority of the Board, the Code of Conduct will be adopted and will be posted at every meeting for those attending. 

  7. Meeting Conduct. If any attendee at an LNA Board meeting or Membership Meeting becomes abusive, unruly, or disruptive, the presiding officer may have the attendee removed, or give the attendee one warning. If the behavior continues, the presiding officer may have that attendee removed, including by calling building security and the police.
